Hi all,
I have a 1988 f150 that shut-off and won' start back up.
I have replaced the external fuel pump, but still have no gas coming out of the pump, but it does run. I have two tanks on this truck but I find it hard to believe that both of the other pumps inside the tanks would go out at the same time. What am I missing here? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Sounds like your fuel selector valve took a dump if you can hear the pumps turn on but nothing is coming out.
Same thing happened to me. The truck just cut off when I was driving and would not restart. Had to coast into a gas station with no power brakes or power steering. That was fun lol.
I can tell that the external pump turns on and runs but I can not tell if I hear the internal pump. I am beginning to think that the dash switch that selects tanks is not operating correctly, is there an easy way to test the switch on the dash, because that would cause the internal pumps not to cut on right?
Thanks for any advice!
