Broke down and ordered one, tires were wearing on the outside fronts. In the course of a weekend, the alignment had changed itself. How much of a pain will it be to swap it out?
I would highly suggest leaving work early on friday so have the entire weekend to do this.
-You will definitely need an impact wrench for this, there's no way around that.
-You'll need to pull the air intake and the driverside Intercooler pipe. The rest is just disconnecting the fluid lines and finagling the steering box out of there.
-I'd also recommend some mechanic's gloves, you can buy them at Autozone for about $20. They pay for themselves really quickly when your knuckles aren't bruised and your hands aren't as dirty.
-Don't forget to rent the proper tools at Autozone
