Does anyone know or have had an issue with the 2010 F450
after long periods of driving ,, the truck losses accelaration ?
i cant determine weather its a engine issue or a transmission problem..
i was driving from Nasville .. to ohio , truck seem too lose power truck would pull but not accelerate .. it slowing winds up when trying to speed up ... i tried taking it out of overdrive , and it wouldnt downshift .. at one point , tach would rise ,, but truck would not increase in speed .. i pulled over let cool down for approx 10 min ... it seemed fine for about 10 miles ,,then back to the same thing .. no power... ... ....no idiot lights (Warnings) at one point it appeared the turbo wouldnt increase when i applied fuel .. so .. im confused as to weather its an engine problem or transmission... . and at low end take off theres seems to be a flutter until clears up it feels like its in the drive train .. but hell i cant tell ... and now its seems to have cleared it self up , and seems normal ,with good accelaration
any help be appreciated ( i wasnt pulling any trailers etc when this happened )
Thanks
Hey that sounds kinda close to what my truck did when the EGR valve stuck...try this... when your truck starts to feel boggy like that...stop...let it idle for about 3-5 mins, put it in drive and start going once you get to like 5-10 mph press pedal about half way down hold there for like one sec then flat foot it.....if it feels like no power and shuttery after wide open throttle quickly look in you passanger door mirror for WHITE smoke blowing out of the tail pipe.... if it is then I would say ERG needs to be replaced or cleaned!
Sounds stupid I know but I just went through this with my F250
