First off i want to thank everyone that has helped me in the past and also the future.
Now for the question. My father and I were trying to tune my truck so we was starting by loosening the distributor and the thing wouldnt move looks like its been in the same spot for awhile. It wouldnt move one bit. tried tapping on it with a soft screwdriver and all that stuff wouldnt move. took out the old handy dandy WD40 (i know probably not good in this area but did it). Well the WD40 wasnt no help either. so had to leave the timing at where it was.
Has anyone ever had this happen to them and what things might i try to do to get it unstuck. plan on rebuilding motor a little later down the road when its on its last leg but not there yet. Really need to get it loose.
it's stuck because of lack of oil changes. you just have t keep working at it, and sooner or later it will break loose. mabe use some channel locks, and turn both ways. remember that it's aluminum though, and can be damaged easy.
If you look, there is a place for an open end wrench to go on the shaft of the dist. Just put one on and start working it back and forth. Some PB Blaster will work also. Once it's out, you will need a new o-ring for the shaft.
