Water Seperator leak

I had Ford change both my fuel filters in May. I ended up with a very slow drip coming from the water seperator . It wont totally shut off. Like I said its very slow, but its staining the driveway. Im going on a trip shortly, and if theres a fix I can try myself I'de give it a shot before trying to get it back to Ford. Any suggestions?

If it happened after Ford worked on it, it looks like they'd be liable for the repair.

All 6.4s have lever type drain don't they?

6.4 is the yellow lever only.

I agree with Larry, they should fix it if you let them do the job. Re-check that all is ok after they have fixed it though.

You will want to get under there and test it yourself.

Don't forget to take a set of filters with you while traveling.

Have you tried to open and close it a few times to see if you may have some trash in it that is not letting ot shut properly? I changed my filters last night and had some big flakes of trash come out of mine when I drained it. Just a thought.

Forgot, though dont all 6.4 's have the same seperator setup? Its a 2008 350 . Theres a lever in the rail filter . I did try opening and closing to try and flush any particals that might be stuck there but its still dripping. The only other thing I could think of was trying a wiggling a wire around in there to loosen any contaminants.
I did get a Ford appointment for after the weekend. It was tough, my dealership has 1 diesel mechanic who's backed up, they were tring to book me next month.
Thanks
Steve

Ensure they actually clean the inside of the separator when the open it back up. You should always shine a flashlight in there if needed. They probably did not and there was something there.
