oh btw while im posting a reply on my 88 f150 4.9 does anybody know where the sending unit is for the temp gauge is? i dont think it feeds thru the temp sensor for the computer but im stomped on where the usual little one wire sending unit is

and the temperature switch (not sensor) is located in center, upper engine area, driver side of engine block, mounted below valve cover. I'm pretty sure that is what sends the signal for the temp gauge. looks like this

i found the sending unit for the temp gauge on my 88 what a nightmare that thing is on the backside of the motor up against the firewall on the passenger side of the head i wasnt too happy when i replaced this today
Thanks a lot im still not finished with old brownie ive still got to get new bumpers and the chrome trim around the fender wells and shes done i should have taken pics of the interior because thats mint.
yep old straight six wont die but shes pretty banged up in the front end but i will get her straightened back up. a friend of a friend gave me the truck because it blew the brake line that goes to the rear end by the gas tank so he didnt want it anymore i said sure ill take her of your hands lol
