Yeah, I know what you are saying, I have been talking about that with the various people that I have called. I can put a length of tubing on the end but I don't think it will make a difference. I was told I should at least test it like this, one of the guys thinks that the conical filter I am using was causing an issue. I just make sure that nothing goes in to the system like leaves.

When I talked to IST today, he wanted me to do the one test I mentioned in my last post and then he was thinking I might need a new calibration tube for my sensor (depending on the test results).

Im not sure what kind of meter your running , but there are several calabrations for the meters , if you run a conical filter it needs to be calabrated for it , same goes for cold air set ups that have a elbow on them different calabration , i never heard of not putting a conical filter on the end of a meter , thats the way most are set up , my pro m meter has a filter that comes with the meter its the only filter that can be used on this meter & it has studs on it that go thru the flange of the meter & bolt , the meter needs to be straight up 12 oclock & level...Lew

Yep I agree.. but that doesn't make it right. I saw a dyno test of this type setup once that demonstrated a dramatic difference in MAF voltage stability(at idle and low rpms) when the meter was spaced 8-10" away from the filter versus right next to it. Once the engine is sucking big air it doesn't matter of course.

I will go home today and add a length of tube on the end of the sensor housing and then I will do the test. I'll even take a pic to show you all

I really appreciate the posts from everyone, talking about it with every one else helps to get out these ideas.
