I want to add an extra set of fog lamps to the front of my 2016 TC. I know the Escape models for the same years have a very similar headlight switch with an extra button for a tailgate lamp.

looks like the connector on the back of the switch is also the same. Wonder if anyone has used one of these headlight switches in a TC, if it was compatible and how they wired up the extra circuit if they used it?

 

Yes it should work. I used a Focus switch on my TC and I think they are all the same. The switch sends messages on the CAN (actually the LIN Bus) and this vehicle platform appears to use all the same addresses for the messages. The trunk button will unlock your liftgate, if you have one.
