F1 vs F3

They are different. The F-1 transmission is a lighter duty, synchronized, the F-3 will be a non-synchronized "crash box" transmission. The usual maneuver is to change from the crash box to a synchronized transmission. If you like double clutching through all the gears, and double clutching to down shift, I doubt you're going to like the swap especially having to the modification to make it fit.
You'd do best if you want a stock floor shift to use a pre-mid '50 floor 3 speed out of another F-1. F-1 came with light duty and heavy duty 3 speeds.
You might want to check into switching to a T-5 transmission. Do a search of this board on "t-5", you'll find a lot of information.

F1 vs F3 transmission
Thanks for the info. I have been looking for a floor shift F1 transmission for months without any luck to this point. I have a column shift but my son wants a floor shift and while the body is off the frame and the engine is rebuilt I would like to get this done. Does anyone know of a F1 floor shift transmission out there. I have found on person that has the case but does not have the top shift part. If someone has the top shift part please let me know. Thanks
