Noisy HPOP?

Noisy HPOP?
My engine has been making what I can best describe as an increased throaty sound for the past number of months. To me it seems to be getting progressively worse, but it might just be because of the fact that it is really aggravating to me. It is not audible at idle, but gets louder with heavier throttle. A buddy of mine who is at about the same level of knowledge about these trucks as I am climbed under the hood while I was giving it some throttle and he said it sounds like it's coming from the area of the HPOP. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before? In my opinion the truck seems to run fine. It is just louder than I think it should be and I don't hear this sound from other 7.3's. Is this something that an HPX would cure? Thanks for the help.

I just went to lunch and on the way out, when I put my PHP Chip in the 80DD tune and pressed the go-pedal, the CEL and Water in Fuel Light illuminated bvery briefly. The truck also seemed to cut out. I put the switch back in stock and things went back to normal. I checked to make sure the chip was seated well and it was. I drove the rest of the way in stock until I got back to the office. Once in the parking lot I put the switch back in 80DD and no lights and power was fine. Parked the truck and at idle I reved the motor a few times. Noticed that at 1500rpms and below the motor was making the whole truck shake. Once I got to higher rpms, the motor smoothed out but it is still noisy like I described above. I can't help but think all of this is related. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks Rick for chiming in!

OMG! there is something Rick don't know.
Make sure your oil level is up to par. Sometimes you can hear things with a mech. stethascope thingy. I found out which pulley was making noise with one. Just watch that it don't get hung in something like a belt.
