Rear end...

I have a 2000 F150 s-cab 4x4 with a 5.4L V8. The truck is stock. I need to know the specs of the rear differential, the only thing I have thus far is that the R&P is a 3.55 ratio. What kind of differential? Is it a Ford 9, 8.8, or what? 31 or 28 spline axles? Anybody know this stuff?

There should be code on the sticker on the door jamb or a tag on the diff that has all that info.

Rear end...

You have the 5.4L, then you should have the new Ford 9.75" rear. I am unfamiliar with the number of splines on these axles, but I'll make an educated guess and say 31. The front is a Ford 8.8" reverse cut... probably a 31 spline as well.
