can I put 08 door panels in an 04? My panels are trashed and instead of repairing and re-dying could I replace them with 08 panels?

Yes you can, however if yours are faded you can simply heat them up carefully with a heat gun. This will bring the dye oils to the surface and restore the color. Free fix.

The doors haven't changed a bit since the SD's conception in 99... just gonna warn you tho, they may look a bit funny if they are A: a slightly different color and B: not faded as much as the rest of your dash
The only place I imagine you'd have issues is the switches and what not
I have no switches and am going to get xl ones so there isnt much diff.... either way though if I get some new ones no matter what age they wont have the same fade I have currently lol... the 08's are different panels but I guess you all are right
Need to note that if you have woodgrain in your truck, the pattern is different in 2008. The grain on the doors would not match up if you have the matching dash. Just an FYI. Why not dye it though, if you don't feel safe with the heat gun?

Judging by the signature his truck just has the simple door panels without that random piece of faux walnut
