Engine clatter
I have a 1994 F-150 XLT extended cab Centurion and while driving it at the propper speed limit when it starts to work at pulling the truck along it has a rattle in the engine like bad gas pinging, you can accelerate to downshift and stop the noise but it's always their just at that slightly accelerating speed unless you go faster or let off the gas a bit. What is it and what's the cure and apx damages. It is the 5.8 L V-8 351 engine with an automatic transmission with overdrive.Can onyone tell me whats up with this pinging please?

I have the same issue (it's not real bad) same motor & trans. 1994 F-150 4x4
When not in gear there is no noise... seems to be worse on colder days.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Had similar problem, found a post on seperating cyl. 7 & 8 spark plug wires..... It worked for me, I would give it a shot.
