Moving checklist help

Moving from Washington state back to Nebraska guys gonna be pulling a loaded 5th wheel and would like to get a check list of things to check or change on the truck. I have a 96 F250 ex cab 4:10's, no kitty, 3 down 4 exhaust, 6637, gauges, upgraded turbine, turbo housing changed from 1.25 to 1.0 from, newer glow plugs, rebuilt tranny with tranny cooler, allot of these were done before I got it. I am changing all fluids replace shocks and brakes. Also replacing tie rod ends and dif fluids. The kids and I are making this journey so I want to make it as safe as possible, any and all help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

Don't forget the trailer too, wheel bearings etc.

Besides extra fluids, spare CPS, fuel filter, tools, tire pressures (spares too). Good time to check that all the lights work on the whole rig.

Bummer on the 1.0 AR.
Good for street, not as cool for hauling.

Does it have an intercooler too?

Sounds like a good truck!!!

yea. Trisadek has it right, check them wheel bearings on the trailer and get them greased up.

Don't forget the grease gun for the trip as well!

Double check your lug nuts and fluid levels (rear end level can drop a bit after thirty miles or so). Synthetics I hope. Hope all goes well!

An extra serpentine belt is handy to have. Extra motor oil, a flat repair kit (plugs), some bottled water in case you do get stuck for a bit, and a set of warning triangles and a couple of flares in case you need to keep oncoming traffic away.

Does the trailer have brakes? Check them. What about the emergency disconnect battery? Still good? How old are the tires? Almost all the trailer tires I've had blow outs on still had lots of tread on them, they were just old.

Make sure the wipers are good and when you check your tire pressure don't forget to check the spare tire too

Thanks for the info and well wishes. Yes good trailer brakes, bat, all lights work, good wipers, good grease, changing front and rear end fluids, two new tires on the trailer other two are a year old. Would going back to the 1.25 be better? For some reason the p/o thought the 1.0 would spool faster which he thought that would be better.
Is there anyone on here from the Omaha area as I am learning allot on here but hands on for me is thee best way thought maybe I could buy some beer and pizza and we could talk some truck.

The1.0 will spool faster but cause higher egts. The stock 1.15 is better for towing, if you don't do too much towing the 1.0 should be ok, I'd get an egt gauge though.

The 1.0 spools faster, but will give you higher EGT's as well. Especially if you are towing the 1.15 is better. (We have a 1.15 stock, not 1.25)

would the fpr shim help me at all looking for a bit more towing power and more mpgs but so not want to burn my truck up. We are going to be headed across the country with a 96 250 pulling a loaded 27' 5er and a 94 rangers pulling a 90 ranger pick up trailer this ought to be comical at the least

If your fuel pressure is below 50psi I would shim it. Just don't go above 80psi at idle. Between 60-75 is good.

It won't really give you more power, but it'll run a little smoother and idle better.
