Does this sound good?

Hey guys! For a while, i've always wanted a 6.0. But I've heard of a lot of problems with them and I want to stay clear. And I feel this is a sign for me!

I found an 01 F350 Diesel Lariat 4x4 Crew Cab long bed with 176k for $10k. Fully loaded. Clean inside and out. I took it for a test ride. Rode nice and drove nice. Good power. All electrical worked. Shifted nice except when we came into the dealership, it wasn't quick to shift into reverse. And at a red light, seem not as smooth I thought it would be. Other than that, it was great!

I know these 7.3 are bullerproof, but I want your guys expertise and see if this is a good buy and what I should expect for the long haul. Any advise would be great! Thanks guys!

The truck sounds like it would be a good deal if things check out. Have a look at this, LINK, Mike did a good job with this. The price sounds good for a truck in good shape, but you may get it cheaper. The trans are the weak point on these rigs. But, if you get a BTS, you never have to worry about it again. Good luck.

i got mine for the same price (plus six new tires) a year ago. had a little less miles on it but has some minor dents and dings and scratches. it was a work truck but was taken good care of for the most part.

Best thing i can say is if you are happy with the deal it's a good deal....without looking at pictures it sounds about right to me.

My '01 with a rebuilt tranny shifts slowly into reverse. The Ford trans. guy in this forum (forgot your name - sorry) said that the spec is that the shift into reverse should complete in less than 2 seconds. Mines about 1.5 seconds, and is smooth, so I'm not worrying about it. I've read other reports referring the 'annoying delay shifting into reverse'.

The price sounds right, even if it needs tires - but offer less, anyway. That truck would sell for 2-3K more in Colorado.

Looks nice. What's to the left of the steering wheel on the dash? Hard to make out in the picture. Is it an towing airbag gauge?

I wish I knew! I should give it another look at and see what can it be. I didn't see airbags in the rear. But would be great if it did have them!

Sounds like a good deal to me. However, I i would use that as a bargain tool. The stealership needs whats coming to them. What goes around comes around.
