Probably a silly one but has anyone ever fabbed up a device to hold a cab on its backside.
I was thinking about fabbing a brace that would support the cab b y the bottom edge which seems pretty solid and another L bracket that would go along the roofline. Then set it on casters.
Obviously the removal of rusted floors along with much more must be removed would be much easier if it was on its back.
Thought about a mattress but what fun would that be.
I dont see why you couldn't. Ive seen pics on here of cabs that sat right on the ground when put on their back, so as long as your only concern is getting it around with the caster, go for it
Hmm couldn't see why not. Use some carpet or something to soften the area where the cab sits use some of those large outdoor caster wheels or steel some shopping carts and use their wheels (The baskets come in handy too, (They know me as the Basket Bandit ))
Why not just build somthing like a large furniture dolly and roll the cab onto that instead of bolting somthing to the cab. That way when the floor was done you could just roll it back onto its floor pans and still be able to move it around if you have to do work on the roof ect.
Basically a larger version of one of these, or a few of these would work as well just connect them together with a sheet of plywood
Harbor Freight has similar furniture dollies for around $10.00 each and they are already covered with carpet. I used four of them to move my bare frame around while I was sandblasting it.
When I did my floors and cab mounts i sat the cab up on four 55 gallon drums and some pallet rack rails. Plenty high to work comfortably inside the cab or under the cab.
If you wanted to get really fancy you could make one of these!
