returning newbe with questions

Hi gang. Been a few years since I have been on FTE. Went from a 97 F150 to a 99 F250 Superduty then to a 05 F350 Superduty and now a Dodge 3500. Due to recent events I am looking to get back into a F150. I have been looking at 97-03's and 04 to 08's. I have found a 01 that I like, 4x4, supercab, shortbed, 5.4, auto, H9 axle(3.55) shift on the fly, XLT etc. Large Photos 81,000 miles. I have some questions that I'm sure you all can answer.

What do I need to look out for on this model of truck? Spitting plugs? etc..

What transmission does it have? Rear end? 8.8 or 9.75? Anything I should check when I go look at it? Thanks a bunch guys.

the spitting plugs problem is only because the heads are aluminum and dont really have alot of threads. the plugs are kinda deep in the head and if they arent threaded correctly, they blow right out of the head. so when you plug change, its very important you thread them in right.

also, theres no way to tell the rear and tranny from pictures.

its a clean truck. id go for it.
