this weekend i plan to get new tires, i currently have 265's on it and would like to go to 285's and money is tight so ill only beable to get them 2 at a time. so my question is will having two different tire sizes on my truck mess up my trans or T-case?
thats what i was thinking, my dad brought this to my attention today because im getting new tires on saturday and it got me thinking about my driveline..
Yeah.. definitely do not use 4x4 with differing tire sizes. Your rear tires will be rotating slower compared to the front axle, assuming you put the big tires on the rear. (Otherwise this is just going to look goofy as hell :P ) This will end up binding up the whole system and possibly snapping stuff making all kinds of headachy and expensive problems.
Honestly I would wait until you can get all 4 at once.
OR i could buy the 2 and throw them in the barn, then when i decide to get the other 2 ill just throw the ones i already got in the truck and get all of them put on at once
