Regen Question
I'm wondering if I have a problem with my truck, an 08 6.4 F-350 dually. I bought it with 20k on the clock and have put almost 9K on it, mostly towing a 9500 # trailer. I have never had a regen while not towing and have driven it around town and highway, sometimes hundreds of miles, no regen.. When towing I'll get one every 6-700 miles, lasts about 30 seconds, the truck runs rough and seems to have less power during this time, then the regen ends and the truck smoothes out and has tons of power again.......It seems like everyone else has them much more frequently than I do.....Am I lucky or do I have a problem? Pipes are clean as a whistle also......Took it to a dealer and explained what was going on.......They said they checked it out, found nothing wrong....
Truck is bone stock, all maintenace done at the dealer, factory filters, fuel filters changed every 7500 miles, oil and filter every 3K.... Yeah I know, to often, but I like it that way.

I would be suspect of that. A regen should last 10 to 40 minutes according to Ford.
How do you know it only lasts 30 seconds? I think the latest software version turns the message center message on momentarily and it goes off but the regen continues to completion as long as the truck stays in drive.
I still have the October '08 flash that keeps the message on until the regen completes.
