truck is between the years of 92-97 with a 7.3L N/a motor
ok the motor is not in the truck or anywhere to found for that matter (NOt really worried about that.
want to know if i'm able to put a 7.3L turbo engine in place of the original N/a. IS it just a bolt on swap or do i need a different wiring harness and ECU
Your truck should be 92-early 94. As long as you get an IDI turbo, it sould bolt right into what you have. As far as i know, there is no ECU. If you have an automatic, then you would have a computer for the trans.
I powerstroke will not be a direct replacement for an IDI!
yes, direct bolt in as long as the truck is pre 94.5 and no special wiring harness really, its a basic wiring that should still be attached to the engine. yes, plug in and go. mpg depends on how you drive it, miles on motor, type of truck and how new your ip and injectors are. also how much boost you are pushing. there are guys here getting 22+mpg with these... pro idi vs idit are better mpg, more power when towing (doesnt really help at all when you are just driving empty) con, well, its one more thing to maintain.
