My A/C only blew to the defrost, cept when I locked the hubs, then it would work for a short time.
So after 2 weeks of chasing forums and "vacuum leaks", I bit the bullet and took it to a shop. The mechanic quickly found that the the 4X4 vacuum solenoid was stuck open. Im just glad to have AC.
Hopefully I can save someone else some $$. Now I get to change a hub assembly! Yahoo!!!!!! Wish me luck =).
You might want to look in the 1999-2003 7.3 diesel forum for answers as well. I come out to this forum on occasion, but not often, and I've seen that question answered numerous times in the 7.3 forum. I'm not saying this one won't help you, but in this case, I know the 7.3 has the answer. It's probably here too, just the search function isn't the best for this site.

What year, etc truck do you have?
Anyone that asks the question "My AC is stuck on defrost" here in the Superduty forum will QUICKLY get an answer from at least 3 different people that "You have a vacuum leak".
From there, it's a quick thing to ask "Got ESOF?"...
Dunno why people have to go to specific engine forums to get answers like that, or that some would suggest doing it in the first place.
I often move questions like that from the V10 forum to here in the SD forum.
