Clearance Lights Installed with Pics!

I got my lights on the truck yesterday although it was only 101 degrees out... whew! By myself and having my nosy neighbor quizzing me for a while, it took only 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. Here's my album: Clearance Light install pictures from trucks photos on webshots There are comments on each picture.

Yes, you need to measure a bunch but it really wasn't as bad as I thought. Not a mod that you rush through. The only thing I broke was one of the plastic plugs that hold the headliner up - not bad for drilling a bunch of holes in my truck!!! As a reference, the lights are 5 1/2" of the center of the light to the rubber of the windshield and spacing is
| Ộ ----- 13"----- Ộ --8"-- Ộ --8"-- Ộ ----- 13" -----Ộ |

Thanks for this link too. It's priceless: Motoman's Madness

Good Job Chris, looks great. My 2002 F350 has the factory ones. On my option sheet, it was listed as a $55.00 option. I was surprised it was so cheap for an add on like this from the factory.

I did 5 and a 1/4 inches off the rubber(yeah I'm THAT stupid). I had a hard time drilling into my own truck, so I had my neighbor do it. Wasn't bad watching with a beer in my hand.

Nice job, Cris. This is just one of many mods I need to do on my truck. Always either not enough cash or not enough time. Oh well some day!!

Looks great!

I don't know why but these trucks look "bald" to me without the cab lights.

Not to say that 5 1/2" is right either. As long as all the lights are in the same distance, it's all good. I did double check to make sure that at the 5 1/2" distance would go just through the roof and not hit the cross bar.

I scored a great deal on Ebay. Just keep looking. The OEM set-up is the way to go for fit and finish. I do want to swap out the lenses with the clear Recon's one of these days..

I had a couple after I was done but no beers when measuring!

I feel the same way. My kids even like the new addition.

flatbeder,

If one is not as careful as Chris was, they may need 12 Coors Lights if they screw up the measuring/cutting. LOL.

12 beers would work. Ha, ha. I was just outside right now admiring my work. How funny is that?
