I've got boost leaks
I got myself a boost leak gauge from dieselsite and as I suspected I have a couple leaks. Even at 10 PSI, I am able to easily locate the leaks.
I was hoping the leaks would be because of loose clamps or tears in the boots themselves.
My leaks are coming out around a couple of the boots as though the boot clamps were not tight enough, but I have cranked them down very very tight. I removed the boots to look at the surface they seat against, and noticed that not all those surfaces (cast aluminum) are perfectly round. There are a couple of somewhat flat spots and this is exactly where it is leaking.
Is the thickness of the boot supposed to cover these imperfections? There is an imperfection like this both on the hot side of the spyder and on the hot side of the intercooler.
If that is the case, maybe my boots are just worn and have been squeezed so long that they no longer have enough thickness to cover these imperfections in the castings.
What do you guys think?

Dont know what condition your boots are in or how old they are but I replaced mine with a set from Clay and difference in the thickness to new ones is quiet noticeable. If they are old and have no life in the rubber get rid of em.
