Did any body from here go to the Elliot Lake drag races. I just got back. I went for the day to try the Merc out. There was alot of people there to run. I heard there was close to 500 registrants. It was my first time, it was alot of fun. What a rush when you pull up to the line and wait for the tree. I ended up breaking out of my dial-in time (the Merc went faster everytime I ran). At least I beat a rice rocket.
Sounds like you had a blast. I have never gone down the track myself. The closest I came years ago was with my '70 Mustang but some clown in a Volare but me into a ditch on the way to the track .
It's nice to bench your performance, of both driver and truck.
Saw the signs on Hwy 17, but that was the closest I got. Montana towing a tent trailer is pretty gutless any way, but the RCMP officer in Manitoba was surprised at how good I was at changing a tire on the side of the highway.
Everybody should run at least once. I spent tooooooooooo much time going faaast when younger.
That's why I got the Pumpkin.
I've heard that alot off people in the area go and others make the trek when they can.
I've seen lots of cool cars heading to events out there.
Between the Sault and Sudbury on Hwy 17 on our way back, we saw a whole pile of old vehicles towing campers, mostly older folks. Must be some cross-country trek or something... The best was the old station wagon full of old ladies towing a camper!!!!
