Those are gross HP numbers, so figure 80% or so for net.

Add the 4bbl, maybe 20 hp at the high end of the revs. Manifold, headers, time, wear, cam etc all affect what numbers you get.

Is this an original '69 motor or has it been rebuilt?

9.5 is a good number for 91 octane gas, based on what others post here.

Since it's the motor in this thread:

white chalky stuff... - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

Which is weeping coolant out the freeze plugs....I would have to wonder what the rest of it looks like.

Have you heard it run?

At the very least, if it is OEM, it will be a smoker as the stock neoprene umbrella valve seals are in pieces under the valve covers and in the pan.

no I have not heard it run yet, but I will
the guy bought it from a friend said it idled fine and didn't smoke.
the only plastic I found was in the oil pan.
there was none left at all on the cam gear but lots of play in the chain...

Timing set is easy. Put a new waterpump on while you do it.

Valve seals can be replaced with the heads on with the right tool. Check with a good shop for that. Teflon seals are better, but require head disassembly. New stock neoprenes, while not "the best", are much better than old stock neoprenes.
