Turbo cleaning

Well I,m going to take my tubo back off and clean it. Will it come apart ok, or does it have to be pressed apart? Then whats the best way to clean it?

It will come apart with a little elbow grease a swing press and a chisel.3M pads and a die grinder will clean it up here is a link. Diesel Technician Society

really if you can get the turbo off then you should be able to clean it. the thing you need to do is mark the direction and location of the band clamps placement.

And it helps if you can take digital pictures during disassembly. A paint pen for marking the bands and clamps is invaluable IMHO.....or a center punch to mark the housings. It can take a little bit of force to get the exhaust side housing to separate and a deadblow/rubber hammer helps greatly with this so you don't crack the housing.
