Steering Wheel

Greetings Bronco brothers & sisters! I generally post in '61-'67 F100 Forum, but have recently learned that someone here may be able to help me. I am looking for a steering wheel for my '66 F100 pickup. Apparently, Ford used the same steering wheel in '61-'70 F100s, '61-'63 Falcons AND '66-'70 Broncos. So....does anyone have a decent steering wheel that they would like to sell at a fair price? I'm in the Chattanooga, TN area and am willing to travel modest distances to avoid the shipping/handling price and hassle. Please PM me if you can help. Thanks! Come visit our forum any time...we'll talk to just about anyone!!!

I can post a want ad for you on Classic Bronco's if you provide me a e-mail address. There are quite a few members close to you and I know one that has a rather large collection of parts. You can PM me if interested.

C3DZ3600A .. 3 Spoke Black Steering Wheel / Obsolete/Reproduced by Dennis Carpenter.

Fits: 1960/63 Falcon/Comet // 1961/66 F100/250 2WD // 1966 F100 4WD // 1966/70 Bronco // 1967/70 F100/250 2WD/4WD // 1967/70 F350.

Good luck finding one of these wheels used...without any cracks in it. Direct sunlight caused cracks to develop within a few years.

I wasnoff a year on the Falcons, didn't know about the Comets, but 61-70 F100's is exactly what ND just posted, only broken down with the 250's & 350's...

I know it's not likely, but hopefully not impossible to find a decent one. I'm an eternal optimist.

No, it's not impossible, unlikely, yes. The one on my Bronco doesn't have a crack in it. The whole truck was a basket case, except for that. Just had to find a decent horn ring. I was hoping the ad would find you one.

As original, Bronco's thru 1970 only came with a horn button.

The horn button and horn ring fit the same applications as the C3DZ3600A steering wheel. The horn ring and attaching parts has been reproduced.

Available from dearbornclassics.com / Call 800-242-7427 for a free catalog / Dearborn sells car parts, but some stuff is the same.

As original, the 1961/67 horn button and horn ring were chrome. 1968/70: Ford painted both flat argent to reduce glare.

If you find a 1968/70 painted horn button/ring, there is NO chrome underneath the paint!

The horn button/ring center emblem varies. Some have the gear/lightning bolt, some have Ford in a oval, some say Falcon, some say Comet, some say Bronco.

btw: The horn button uses a different spring than the horn ring.

Thanks, again! It's amazing how a simple idea (i.e. Get a period steering wheel) can become a most difficult quest. I have a line on one, but I'm not sure it is "crackless." I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

Thanks! I think those steering wheels are for older models, though.

I appreciate all the help with my quest...I found a very nice steering wheel!!! BONUS: the seller threw the horn button in for free! It is the chrome w/gear & lightning bolt logo. All I had to get for it was the horn button retainer ring (lousy plastic clips break off) and the horn button spring. Found a BOATLOAD of both at JJ's Custom Mustang here in Chattanooga, TN. He only works on Mustangs, but a few of the parts in the steering wheel/column/horn are apparent the same. $4.95 for each part....I bought an extra retainer ring for good measure. Thanks again everyone!
