I'm vertically challanged (also balding and my wife says ugly), anyway, I'm trying to do something about the short part. Does anyone know if its possible to shim under the bolted feet of the bench type seats ( about an inch) using 1 inch square stock and longer bolts. Do I risk the seats coming loose in an accident? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Dam, don't be so hard on yourself!! have you ever seen what Monsta looks like???
You should have no problems shimming the seat, but the big picture, if anything happens, god forbid, Im not so sure your insruance company will like the altered seat.
I hate to think that way, but these days, everybody is looking for an excuse.
I had to do the same thing in my nova , as far as bringing up the seat so i could see , not that i am short , just the way the seats were made. Coming from someone who used to work in the insurance business, dont tell your agent that you are doing anything to your seats as far as mounting goes , i am sure he won't like it too much
The only guy I know that has ever done that was a guy who always buys GMC. He never wrecked, so I can't tell you for sure. But when he sold the truck he put the original bench seat back in it and kept the captain's chair for around the bonfire at hunting camp and that worked pretty well. It gets cold in North Dakota during pheasant season when you sleep on the ground at night around the camp fire. But you get to listen to the coyotes howl all night.
Have you thought about the possibility of a 6 way power captains seat? I'm not making fun but, if you raise the seat will you still be able to reach the pedals?
No offense taken. Height dosn't matter I'll just swap out the broomstick I use to push the gas and brake for a longer model!!!!
Must be real cold and lonely up there in fairbanks.
2x4 blocks on the pedals might be a possibilty too.
Cold? Here? It's been the warmest winter I have ever seen in my 20 years here. It got down to -35 once this winter, It's been really strange. It was actually in the 40's and was raining Saturday through tuesday. Made a real friggin mess out of the roads. It started snowing tuesday and have gotten about 8" of fresh powder since. supposed to get a few more too. I feel sorry for those who live in the arctic of the northeastern states and Canada. Their winters have been worse than ours for the last couple of years.
Lonely, Hardly. I have a beautiful wife, 3 kids, dog, cat and lots of friends. Some of them even drive chebys.
Stay warm all!
I see stupid people. I see them everywhere, and some of them, drive chebys.
