What spray paint you plan on using? There have been some negative experiences with Rustoleum products (myself included, I hate their current stuff) so make sure you read up on that before you waste like $6 a can for something that lays down like crap and looks even worse when it's all dry.

red scotch-brite=300 grit sandpaper IIRC just as a reference point if you cant find any Scotch-brite

holy crap 80 grit?i would have just used stripper or even gasoline.lol a good powerwasher will take latex off.im a painter and have had paint on my truck more than a few times and i usually got it off with a powerwasher or denatured alcohol
