need help with brakes
<hr style="color: rgb(209, 209, 225); background-color: rgb(209, 209, 225);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> i just went and put a new booster and master cylnder on my 1999 f150 with the 4.6 and 4x4 and got some brakes back on my truck and the e brake light went off but the abs light is still on when i bled the brakes got the air out of the back but not getting air out of the front dose that mean the air is stuck in the proportioning valve and if so how do i bled the proportioning valve thanks for your time
There is no bleeding a proportioning valve. It is only in the rear supply line.
It's purpose is to lower the pressure to the rear brakes because they have less grip on the road surface during braking due to the weight transfer to the front, lifting weight off the rear..
If the rear were allowed to have full pressure they would lock up and become an additional danger to stopping.
ABS is a seperate function that detects speed differences between the front wheels and the rear axle speed before applying a modulating pressure to the front wheels.
i bled the brake and the abs light still on and the front cals locked up so ibled it again and they dont lock up but still fell spongy and the abs light is still on but the ebrake light is off now ??????????????????????????
