I just bought a 93 E250. Since I bought it I noticed that on some occasions when its i am stopped and then go to accelerate, it will bog, hesitate, stutter, etc. Sometimes it will even die. Now it only does it on occasions and the check engine light is not on; it cruises and idles fine. I have changed the fuel filter, and air filter. I also thought it could be the MAF sensor but I am told by Autozone that this year doesn't have a MAF sensor, and I tore the intake apart looking for it too and didn't find a MAF sensor.
Anyone have any ideas as what else it could be? Vacuum hoses?
Should be on the throttle body opposite of where the throttle cable connects. There is usually no adjustments that can be made - so replacement is the option.
You may also have a vacuum leak which causes similar symptoms. Check all the vacuum lines to make sure they are firmly connected and are not cracked.
Ok, I have replaced the TPS; it has improved throttle response and the bogging or hesitation is less frequent but still there. I looked over all the lines again for a vacuum leak and I still got nothing.
