Started 2004 6.0 excursion and ac panel had no power. Rear ac was blowing but not cooling. Later same day started and every thing was back to working. Is this a common problem? How do I fix it? What if it doesn't come back on next time it checks out?
Thanks in advance,
Lonie

You say it eventually came back on working normally, with the refrigeration portion doing what it is supposed to ?
My suspicion would be a loose wire and/or partially bad-contact in your fuse-breaker panel. Your AC, if it is like my V-10, is fed by several different fuse/breakers. That would explain why the blower motors in the rear still had power - but your compressor clutch and other systems did not.
The bad news is that some of the wires supplying power to the rear body are NOT fused - these are hidden behind the rear window/trim panel. there are lots of sheet-metal screws in there with sharp points, that can temporarily "short out" various circuits.
All this supports my theory that electricity is really COMPRESSED SMOKE (but that is another story for another time....!)
