alright we just put on the new cap and rotor. the cap and rotor were both a little corroded but not too bad. we checked all the vaccuum lines and dad unplugged some and plugged them back in. we were looking for the green wire you were talking about and it had a black one going into it too so we unplugged both, revved it a little bit and turned it off. dad drove it and he said it was still doing it some.

he seems to think its overloading somehow? ull be going slow and it will start jumping or bucking kind of but as soon as you give it a little bit more gas it will come right out of it. would that be fuel pressure related? im probably going to replace the o2 sensors anyway and maybe the egr valve.

were going to call around the dealers today when i get off work and see about a full diagnostic test with a print out.

Coupla' things:

Disconnect and plug the line going to the EGR valve. Use a golf tee or whatever to plug the line. Drive the truck. See if the bucking goes away. If the check engine light might comes on when you're driving with the EGR line unplugged don't worry about it. You can turn it off later.

Run a full diagnostic test yourself. It's easy. Go here to find out how:

Ford Fuel Injection How To Run a Self-Test

Have a pen and paper while you run the test. Then you'll have your "print out". Free.
