Its taken forever to get to this cause of those damn rusty clips on the front end Tomorrow i'm gonna pull the transmission out, I got all the hoses and wires disconnected. Here are some pics.
Pulling the engine, gonna take it apart to see if its salvageable, can you tell me if it'd be easier to take off the transfercase and transmission to pull the engine or all in one piece?
I could barely get my C6 2wd transmission out attached to the engine. I doubt I could have gotten a 4wd with transfer case out. The problem is you have to lift the engine up to get the oil pan to clear the front crossmember and then your transmission is hitting the cab, so you have to tip the whole engine front up/rear down ... kind of a pain.

its easier to just unbolt the engine from the tranny and pull the engine. if you loosen the 2 bolts on the transmission mount then you can slide it back about an inch. that will help big time.

Ok thanks much i'll let you know how it goes. I was just afraid of bending the input shaft on the transmission.
you'd never break that thing man. If you don't scoot that tranny back the inch then the pressure plate fins will hang up on it a little. Once it's moved you'll be alright. Thatsassuming you have the mitsubishi starter (long) if you have the short then you don't have to slide it back. t
Remove starter, Separate transmission from motor at bell housing, remove the top 4 bell housing bolts, break the two bottom bolts loose, leave them for now.
Attach lift to motor, lift motor until bell housing hits floor (no body lifts), place jack under transmission, remove two remaining bolts, It'll come out no problem.
