Not getting enough spark

After going through the motions with my truck, I've found a new problem.

1988 F150 5.8 ltr.

Drove my truck to the gas station. While filling up, the truck stalled out. I turned the key and it kept kicking but would not turn over. I managed to get the truck started and then drove it home as it wanted to stall out on the way.

After getting the truck home, it stalled out again & would not turn over. Thought it wasn't getting fuel, but found it wasn't getting the spark when I pulled out a plug connected to the a plug wire.

I seem to be having an on going problem. My truck runs for a while, now it stalls out and doesn't want to start until things cool off?

Something is getting hot & making it stall until it cools down. What could it be?

First thought would be ignition coil. These are classic symptoms of a bad coil.

How long since you last changed the plugs/wires/cap/rotor?

Pull the codes first, it sounds like you have a bad TFI module and if so there will be a code for it.

I have an OBD 2 & 1....this is what I got....

DTC:23

1. Throttle position (TP) signal sensor out of range.

2. Fuel injector pump level sensor input is out of self test range ( Diesel )

My truck isn't a diesel.

Where'd you find those definitions?

<table table="" style="font-size: 100%;" border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td>23</td> <td><center>X</center></td> <td> </td> <td><center>X</center></td> <td>Closed throttle TPS voltage higher or lower than expected.</td></tr></tbody></table>

Try it again and post the codes you get if any, ('88 model will post 2 digit codes).
