Has anyone used the International head gaskets? I am buying ARP studs and have not decided a way to go on head gaskets and have not heard much about the International ones. Can you buy them without the bolts?
The International gaskets and the ford gaskets are identical. Ford simply repackages the international kit. The International kit comes with the bolts as well unfortunately. It is however cheaper than Fords kit.

Thank you for the input. I see you went with the Black Onyx. Would you go that route again?
Find yourself a Victor-Reinz dealer. That is where people are getting the Black Onyx gaskets. Much cheaper, like $80.00 each.

Those are the same as Black onyx? Why are they so much cheaper if they are the same. Just trying to get the best gasket I can so I only have to do this once.
Those ARE the Black Onyx gaskets. The companies selling them as Black Onyx are just marking them up, and I am sure they wont like this post. If you notice, the Black Onyx gaskets come in a PLAIN wrapper so you dont know who made them. THESE ARE THEM.

Personally I would go that route but you have to be meticulous when cleaning the head deck and block deck. In my opinion you would never get the surfaces clean enough with the recommend plastic scrapper. You need to use a razor blade to remove all debris left over on the surfaces. The problem is the black onyx gaskets have sealing material on the entire surface and the OEM gaskets only have sealant around the ports so material is allowed to build up on the surfaces. If you reuse stock gaskets you only need to get the sealing areas clean... When I installed my black onyx I had the head surface machined and I spent hours cleaning the block deck just to give you an idea.

Get the spray on gasket remover. It is VERY strong. Burns your hands, but cleans great. Then I use steel wool.

I don't know that steel wool is a good Idea... you don't want to use anything that will change to surface finish. Not with this type of gasket anyway...
