Admittedly, I'm still in the "honeymoon" stage. I've put on just over 300 miles in the 3.5 days I've had my 2011 F350 CC LB 6.7PSD Lariet, Lariet Ultimate, FX4, Chrome in White Platinum Met. Tri-Coat. That said I am 100% thrilled with the truck. I'm already getting at least 50% better "gas" milage than I had in my 2003 Yukon XL 2500. WAY better performance without a load. And the systems including Navigation, Serius, and Sync couldn't be more user friendly.
I looked at the Dodge. The performance numbers and my wife not liking the louder engine noise killed Dodge as an option.

You've got to be a hard-core hand-shaker to give up all the awesomeness of the Ford for a Dodge. That would be a hard trade for me. Sure, I would have ordered a manual but am WAY glad I chose the Ford automatic over the Dodge manual. The Ford allows you to control the trans in ways you couldn't before with the gear lockout, manual mode and legendary tow-haul mode. This power train is going to go down in history as a game-changing power-house.

Dodge has already had Tow-Haul, Range Select (same thing as gear lockout I believe) and a manual mode on their automatics, Ford is late to the game when it comes to all the fancy automatic transmission features. Granted the Dodge 68RFE is a little lacking in the refinement department, but the new Dodge trucks are pretty good all around now.

Don't get me wrong, Ford definitely still has the edge of the competition with the 6.7/6R140 though.

I just got an '11 F250 and there are only 2 leafs on the rear springs vs. the 4 I had on my '08 F250. I will let ya know but it kinda bothers me. Otherwise, truck is amazing.

I'm not saying they're the best trucks around, but if you seen the interiors and just the overall fit and finish compared to 08 and older trucks the difference is staggering.

I am glad they are improving on the interior aspect of the trucks, which seems to be one of the biggest complaints with the Dodge and GM trucks. People can say that these are trucks so the interior does not need to be "plush" it’s made to work but when you spend hours a day in a vehicle it becomes a very important to be comfortable. So to keep this on track with the original question, I am extremely pleased with my truck, I only have 930mi on it so far but simply amazing, makes my 03 7.3 seem like a dinosaur. The most compliments I have had about the truck from those just looking at it and sitting in it, wow these seats are amazing and it’s so quiet! Ford has a good fit between comfort and function in these tricks. Mine is a 2011 F-350 SRW LB King Ranch

If anyone's interested....

My first tow with my new '11 6.7 F250

Roughly 8K of travel trailer, about 300 miles today through ATL past Montgomery, AL.

I found out I have a 25 gal fuel tank. Not good.

My truck is 10K GVWR, 23.5K GCVWR, 3.55 E lock rear diff.

My trailer made the rear bumper sag 3.5" so I had to install the weight distribution bars. Never was an issue with my '08. Not that crazy about that. For some reason, I only have 2 leafs in the rear with the 3rd one being the bottom. My '08 had 3, 4th being the bottom one.

MPG? Wow, I only got 9.6 with cruise set on 70. RPM's were steady at 1600-1650. Not much better than my '08 got.

Manners? I get more sway and wiggle on downhill runs and from passing vehicles. The trailer pushes my truck around more than I ever experienced with my '08. Otherwise, the engine and tranny are pure silk. No contest, amazing driveline, pulls like a dream, no lag, pure grunt. Downshifts/engine braking in tow/haul are like melted butter on fresh lobster.

Interior and dash? No contest, amazing vehicle/ergonomics/technology w/nav and Sync. Air conditioned seats are da bomb.

I need airbags and mostly to be conviced that MPG's are supposed to be up. I know that running empty is supposed to be better, and, for the most part I believe it. Towing? Nothing so far. I planned on saving $4-5K this year in fuel, I don't drive more than 50 miles/week without a trailer.

Don't tell me to run 65MPH! I average 900 miles/week and an extra 5MPH average nets me significant time.

At any rate, I love the truck. I really had a great experience with my '08 though I don't regret trading it in at 154K miles. It was starting to go in a few ways.

I need airbags badly as two of my work trailers won't accept distribution bars the way they are configured. Hopefully with some tire wear and the airbags the trailer dancing will calm down. I'm starting to wonder how much lighter these '11's are compared to the '08-'10s. That weight made a nice towing platform.

Nice write up... I was really surprised when I saw the leaf spring setup on the new '11's. It appears Ford was more interested in unloaded ride quality than handling heavy loads.

I can not comment on the F250 but here are some real world numbers from my 2011 F350. I have 3800 miles on it in3 weeks. I have towed the 3055RL BigHorn 1700 of those miles. I have weighed the rig. The truck weighs 8700# full of fuel and loaded for a trip. 4980# on the front 3720 on the rear. With the trailer, front is 5140# and the rear is 6080#. Truck weight is 11220 3 on a 11500 GVW. Front could carry 560# more and the rear 720# more. Trailer weighs 12900# with 2380# on the pin. Total package has a combined weight of 21740. This leaves 1760 # of GCVW payload. The trailer does not sag the truck below level and the truck pulls it like it is not even there. I am very pleased with the truck.
