Brake and Rotor Advice

I need some advice on brakes and rotors. I'm new to here and have seen there is a lot of useful information on here.

I have a 2001 F250 Crew Cab 4x4 w/7.3 in it. My rotors are warped and I get the shimmying when I press the brakes now. I've looked at Power Slot rotors and Hawk LST pads. I had my mind made up on them, and tried to order a set from autoanything, but they were back ordered until October!!

Can you guys give me some direction?? Anywhere else that you can get a really good price on the rotors?

Thanks.

Welcome to FTE!

Wagner and performance friction are the best that I have used and would highly recommend them.

Thanks.
Those guys tried to rip me off. I would never get a thing from them again! Sent me the wrong part (for a 6.4L, not a 6.0L) and then tried to get me to return it with ME paying the return shipping, and deducting the original shipping plus a 20% restocking fee. Poor customer service!

I used the Wagner lifetime rotors and Carquest severe duty pads and have been very happy so far.

Getting quality parts is part of the braking equation. The other side, from my experience, is how you break-in those new parts. Do some Internet searching for "rotor seasoning" & "brake pad bedding", and you will get some good insight.

What is out of stock pads or rotors? If you can't get the LST pads the Hawk SD pads are just as good if not better. If money is tight I would get the slotted rotors for the fronts and use standard rotors out back.

Make shure you go over the slide pins, flush the entire brake system with new fluid and bed the pads in properly like said earlier.

I got Napa rotors all the way around and Hawk LST pads front and back. Bedded them in (like I do with all brake jobs) and they been great.

Backorder

They were out of the left front rotor at autoanything. Said it would be until October. I cancelled my order from them, I inadvertently ordered rear rotors and pads instead of front like I wanted.
So, from the advice here I found buybrakes.com and ordered front rotors and pads and should have them here in a couple of days.
Sounds like bedding the pads isn't too tough to do. I've looked at the Motive power bleeders to use to flush my system with. Looks like a pretty simple process. Any big issues with this?

I have the Motive products bleeder and did a complete system flush on my truck recently. The bleeder worked great and was easy for one person to do. I sucked as much of the old fluid out of the master cylinder resivour I could and topped off with fresh fluid before attaching the bleeder. I did a really good flush and used about 2 1/2 quarts of fluid total. The supplied hose that goes from the bleeder screw to a catch bottle is too short so keep that in mind. If you tilt the catch bottle slightly and look where the fluid is coming into the bottle you can see how clear the fluid is. I would buy the Motorcraft fluid as its rated at a higher temp or a synthetic Dot 3/4 fluid.
