I have a 90 F350 that I am scrapping and I was wondering if the windsheild is the same one that is in my 85 F150. If it is I figure I'll pull it an hang on it it just in case something happens on down the road.
My understanding is that the '87 to '96 windshield fits the '80 to '86 cab, but the notch in the black edge at the bottom to view the VIN is in the wrong spot, so the VIN on your older cab will not be visible with the later windshield.
The larger F-600/F-900 uses the same windshield 1980-1999, as the 1980-1986 as example, except for the level of tints. The 1980-1999 F-600/F-900 has the vin in the dash in the same place as the 1980-1986 F-100/F-350.
The larger F series trucks never got away from the same dash as the 80-86 pickups used, so I guess it makes sense that the windshield would remain the same for them as well.
Not exactly perfect, but a person could scrape off the paint that would cover the vin number, and use the other style windshield.
With all of that said, it's very difficult to remove the windshield from any 80 & newer truck without cracking it......
