I appreciate all the advice!! I will check into replacing the injectors. Is this someing that DIY'er could tackle or even would it be recommended?? OR should I seek "professional" help?
Please make sure that everything else is good before you take the plunge on new injectors.
I'm not saying that yours don't need to be replaced, but too many cases of power loss have been caused by other, much less expensive, problems.
Again, the most common cause of no towing power is low fuel pressure caused by a clogged pickup screen inside the fuel tank. Do that first, then move on from there.
Well Im not sure that in it's current state that the truck would reasonable tow 12k. I pull a 22' Nauticbay boat equipped with F150 motor and total weight with trailer included couldn't be more than 3-4k and it takes a minute to get up to speed. As when not towing, its not "fast" but that is subjective. I just know that its sluggish.
Is there anyway to tell if the truck has a chip installed? A previous owner mentioned this to me...??
