No more door chime and no more driving

The pics and instructions were great. My truck no longer chimes but I can't get the shifter out of park anymore. Its a 2011 F250 with a 6.2L gas and FX4 package. Any ideas on what might fix this minor problem. Thank you!

The manual says to check your brake bulbs and if they are ok you can take the steering column cover off again and manually release it with your finger

Interesting. The keyless entry buttons and the key is one piece for both of my keys.

Page 279 in the manual discusses the brake-shift interlock.
Hopefully this will resolve your issue so you can get back to driving the truck.

Did your lariat not come equipped with the keypad?
I thought this was standard with the lariat and it's listed under the lariat section of the order guide (all XLT content plus ...) and not listed under the lariat ultimate package.

Yes it came with a keypad. I'm just used to having the small keyless entry control in my pocket. The 2011 key is just to bulky in my pocket. And I use the remote starter all the time.

So your dealer was able to make a key without the transmitter head? And you programmed a key then removed the metal "key" part? This sounds like a great setup. I hate the "key" stabbing me in the leg when it gets turned around in my pocket. Thanks for the idea. I'll get this done next week.

When I hook my 5th wheel I just get a real close up view of my bumper and license plate, but it still is working.

Read the owners manual, it has a disable. Turn on the key<don't start> Wait for the Beltminder light to go away<about 45 seconds> latch and unlatch your seatbelt 3 times <within 30 seconds> stopping in the unlatched position. Then wait for the light to come on. Latch and unlatch<within 7 seconds> and you will get a blinking beltminder to confirm you did it right.

I did this the first night I got the truck. Very easy to do. It was the same process on my 2006.

This only kills the "key in/engine off/ door open" chime. It DOES NOT kill the "key in/ acc on/ door open" chime. Any help?

I do believe this is the limit of silence. If the ignition is on, you will have to suffer with the chime. Someone might help ya.

This is Great!!!

This mod worked in my 2008 Mountianeer as well. The only minor difference is it is a BU-GY wire. It is in between the VT-RD and VT-GN wires.

It also appears that the only thing affected is just the key chime. Other warnings still seem to work.

Totally Awesome,

THANK YOU ! ! !

I disconnected the wire today and that works as stated. What would be nice is to stop the chime when the door is open with the key on, engine not running so I can listen to the radio. Anyone know if this is doable.

Trip the latch with a screw driver and when ur ready to go then pull the handle and use the screwdriver to pull the latch back open.
