Broke the end of the shifter off. It's hanging by the "OD" wires.
Any one have this happen? How did you fix it?
Parts guy Ed has this: www.partsguyed.com
Just not sure if I need the whole lever,or what. Any input would be appreciated.
I looked at YOUR picture and ED's and I can't quite figure out how much stuff you'll get if you order it.
I'd send Ed YOUR pic and ask him.....or may be others will chime in and help.
Mine broke in the same location. You need to replace the whole lever. Just order #1 in your link. The lever comes with all the wiring, end cap, and button on the end. That parts illustration makes you think you need to order the parts separate. Here is how I took everything apart, remove the steering tilt by unscrewing it. There is a flat part you can put a crescent wrench on. You have to take off the plactic shroud around the steering column. There are three phillips screws on the bottom housing. The bottom part will drop. You have to take the ignition tumbler out. To do this the key has to be in the run position, then push the little bearing on the bottom part of the ignition and it will pull out. Then you can remove the top part of the shroud. Then you will need to tap out the pin holding the gearshift lever in place. Unplug the old electrical connector and plug in new. Pretty easy shouldn't take over 1/2 hour to do.
