I had a 4412 (500cfm) on my 400. It was a vast improvement over the Motorcraft carb.
I now have a 4160 (600cfm) and like the performance better. If you don't plan on making any performance addditions, the 4412 is a really good carb.
Hidome, I used a 4412 on a new 390 years ago in a 76 highboy. I thought it performed very well. It seemed to have very good low end grunt.
It was hassle free as far as installation goes. Just bolt it right on in place of the factory Motorcraft 2bbl. Ford kick down linkage was already on it.
