I bought a 01 Escape in June of 09 at 112,124 miles. I never had any problems with it. It ran perfectly fine, and i've taken good care of it. gotten the oil changes on time etc. Anyways in January of this year I rolled it. I hit ice on the interstate and lost control. We spun and did one full rollover and landed right side up. The front of the vehicle took the damage. My driver fender, Windshild and the Roof. Other than that the rest of the vehicle was perfectly fine. Anyways just wanted to give a little background before getting into the problems that im having. I couldnt drive it for about 2 1/2months. I think i got it back in April. Anyways. Ive had two oil changes since then. Both times my Escape has run funny afterwards. The first time, it ran perfectly fine the first day. The second day however, it started running weird. my Chk Engine light came on and i couldnt accelerate over 45-50mph. i pulled over and shut it off. Turned it back on and then it wouldnt let me go over 35mph. i let it sit for a day being as it was a weekend and i had to wait for a Repair shop to open on Monday. Monday i started it and it ran perfectly fine, the shop couldnt find out was wrong so they just did a tuneup and replaced the spark plugs. after its run fine since. I had one problem with it a few weeks ago where id push the gas pedal and it was very hard to push and it wasnt getting gas, and then my brakes locked up. luckily i was only going about 5mph. that only happened once though. This second time, i had my oil changed July 6th. Since then its been running horrible. i start it and it acts like its going to die. like with a manual if u dont give it enough gas when your letting out on the clutch. that putputput thing. its died on my twice while reversing. What could be wrong? it only ever acts up after having the oil changed. usually after a couple days or so it goes back to normal, but not this time. What could the problem be?....by the way sorry this is so long...
Oil change with 3 to 5 thousand miles in between? I would call that just a coincidence.
If it is running that bad, it should be throwing some codes. Anyhow I would be looking at injectors, vacuum leaks, and etc. Items that affect the fuel and fuel mixture, along with possibly timing.
Oh, one more question...Is the exhaust flowing freely.
