Ignition - cluster light issue

I just picked up a 78 F100 from my neibour 200 bucks, good deal I think. Runs mint he was the orignal owner. So anyways it has an aftermarket radio in it, works ok, but when I turn the key for the ignition the cluster lights come on and they do not work from the headlight ****. So I saw in a thread that a wire might be wired together. I found the connecter that has a blue/red stripe and a black wire with what looks like a fuse but it is incased in a black thing. These 2 wires blue/red and that black one are connected together. I totally disconnected the radio and also seperated the blue/red and that black one, then the cluster lights would not work at all, I cant seem to find where these 2 wires should go, do they just hang there and maybe my headlight switch is not working? I tried turning the **** back and forth but nothing happens, the inside cab light does work all the way to the left.

Thanks for your replys ...

Blue/red is for cluster /dash lighting
or in your case radio light

The round thing is noise suprressor on the Radio POWER WIRE

disconnect them.

Check your fuse fuse for a missing fuse

That blue coded fuse for dash lighting is hard to find. 15 amp, but is shorter than the others

Do you mean T/S indicator lights stay on ?

That would be another feedback power wire attached to the T/S wiring

Check the wiring at the drivers side rear for a mess.
