Any recomendations on tires for 2003 f-350 diesel 4x4? I sometimes haul 2000 lbs of firewood about 250 miles 1 way. I need a good on & off road tire with good side wall strength. I'm looking at B F Goodrich All-Terrain T/A Ko. Any thoughts would be helpful.
I have been running BFG AT's forever (okay the last 15 years) as my only tire of choice. I have the 02 F250 4x4 and tow a 10 lb 5th wheel with no problem!! They come in D load and now are starting to show up in E load, at least for my factory 16" wheels.
When I haul the boat, the atv's or firewood or sand I leave the tire pressure alone. When I hook up the camper I usually add about 8 psi to 10 psi to the rear only, just depends on how much extra stuff I throw in the bed.
other than anlother tire thread, lol. i prefer the nitto terra grapplers. for me they run a little smoother and wear better than the bfg. also bfg's quality has gone down hill in the last few years, but may be easier to obtain seeing how my nittos i just ordered are 6 weeks back ordered.

IMHO they are the best AT tire available, period!
Has the BFG AT's had much affect on fuel mileage? Last week's trip with firewood Iwas getting 22 mpg(60mph for 225 miles). I like the aggressive tread on the BFG's.

I have never seen the Nitto tire brand. Which tire company owns the Nitto tire company name plate?
I don't think they would have much if any. To be honest since 1999 when I got that truck and the 02 (which had BFG's put on it at the dealer before I drove away) I've not changed.
i just put on a set of 285/ 75/ 16 at tire kingdom two day turn around max they ride great but i wouldn't go any bigger you start getting side wall shift with a load hope this helps

Nitto and Toyo tires are pretty much the same only different tread patterns. They are a japanesse tire company with plants all over and they are a good tire. Th eNittos and Toyo tires I saw first hand were made in Japan.

I vote the BFGs. They are very good tire. My dad won't run anything else on his SD, he has bought them for every SD he had.
I've had good luck with bfg at ko, good all around tire mud, snow, wet dry etc. bfg mt km they wore pretty good and had good grip off road and were pretty decent on the road. I've also used goodyear ats which have great highway manners wet and dry but lack in the mud. They last a long time to. Goodyear mtr which are a good tire when its not on wet pavement and they wear pretty fast. I have had the tera grapplers and they didn't offer as good off pavement as the bfg at ko. They were close to par with the good year ats but didn't last as long.
