Uniroyal Laredo II's here. Love them so far great ride no noise and very good off road. Ran the BFG AT's for years and love them. But these were about 250 dollars cheaper than them. And they carry a load well no side roll.
Nitto and Toyo tires are pretty much the same only different tread patterns. They are a japanesse tire company with plants all over and they are a good tire. Th eNittos and Toyo tires I saw first hand were made in Japan.
I vote the BFGs. They are very good tire. My dad won't run anything else on his SD, he has bought them for every SD he had.
sorry to say but nitto and toyo aren't even close to the same. nittos are american made down in good ole texas. thats the only reason i buy them besides for me seem to be better than everything i've ran with. that and the last set of bfgs i unloaded at the warehouse came in on a container from china. with the kumho's .
Hard to find "American Owned" tires. Just find some that provide jobs (in Georgia) like Toyo and Nitto. BFG is owned by Michelin which is a French based company, couldnt find where KOs were made.
Found this:
“North America continues to be the most important market for both the Toyo Tires and Nitto brands,” says Kenji Nakakura, president and CEO of parent-firm Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. in Osaka, Japan.
“Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, strategically located in the United States, benefits both dealers and consumers by delivering our premium tires faster while reducing overall costs,” Nakakura notes. “I can confidently say, as a company we will continue to invest in the United States.”
The Georgia plant is ISO 9001:2000 certified, and in 2009 state officials honored the factory with its Georgia Manufacturer of the Year award for firms with more than 500 employees.
Tire produced at the factory include the Toyo Proxes ST II, Open Country M/T, Open Country A/T, and the Proxes 4 along with Nitto’s Grappler, NT 420S and NT 555.
