I wonder how the 7.3 gained 60 pounds over the 6.9?

The site calls the wieght for the 6.9 out at 860# and the 7.3 at 920#. I would think they would both be measured the same way wet or dry.

They did do some block strength updates, however I cannot believe that adds up that much ...
I would believe they are all weighed dry, most do weigh dry.

-Enjoy

Duh, the 7.3 has larger head bolts. The bolt itself is offset by the larger holes in the block and heads, but the heads of the bolts are larger so weigh more. lol

Oh he is so funny. Myself i figure that since they thinned the cylinder walls, enlarged the holes in the heads and the blockIt would wiegh less. But then again it has better rockers, and I think they deleted some of the water passages at the back so it should just offset the lost wieght.

better rockers wont add the weight.... maybe 5 lbs tops. havent heard they deleted water passages, that would add weight, since your filling voids with cast iron.

I think it was dave S. that mentioned once a long time back about he deleted passages. Some thing about it makeing 7&8 run a little hotter.

i know ive heard that the CDR dumps into the 7 and 8 cylinders and that makes them hotter than the others.
