I know I might have asked this before but where is a good place to get cheap mandrel bent tube for welding my own y-pipe and exhaust? local or internet??? what size did you use?
I got mine through a local performance parts store but it can also be found on the web. I believe the stuff my guy ordered in was from Magnaflow but it is available from others too and the pieces aren't too expensive. I bought 2.5" aluminized J bends BTW.
Something I should have included in my project were these ball sockets, I'd replace the flange joints on the headers with these and also put one behind the cat to make the system easily removable.
CA is the exception to the rule... They have so many stupid air rules that it's rediculous! If CA would have concentrated on things like the pollution from semi's, diesel trains, CFB at power plants (cfb= coal fired boilers for those that don't know) and other larger scale emmitters they wouldn't have to worry about a couple of trucks that wouldn't pass the smog test... I could go on and on about the problems CA creates for itself with smog laws but I'll stop here...
Thanks for the info Paul. How many J-bends did it take you to get your's done? Also may be a stupid question but why would you want to take the exhaust off??? smog test???
