No ranch option trucks were everywhere
But in the 78 and 79 you could just order the stakes and such they werent in a package cause you could order the bed to have a curb side tool box. (What I was talking about) alone. A old guy I know has one of the last high boys and it has the tool box in bed option. So I say the stakes were a option. And it use to be you had to buy a package, and I think it was 68 when it was package. I forget now.

Do you have some documentation for this "ranch truck" option? I personally have never heard of it.

The tool box option could be ordered on any 8' bed model.

What are these stakes your talking about? Picture?

Interesting but that is for a 70, wrong section. Did they continue this into the 73-79 series?

That truck was specially outfitted by the Recreation divison of Ford and would receive what Ford considered an option for what the truck was used for.

There were Regional trim options depending on the destination of the truck.
ie: Like the 68 Mustangs with their California Cpecial and High Country special (Denver)

There is no special trim line for the description of this truck in the Ford parts book.

They all have them, and you could order the farm and ranch, which had 2 options, one with the regular side they show then you could get bigger ones for hauling more hay. Yes thats a 70's and that just a brochure I was looking at, and it was offered into 78 I know. This trim was not a destination trim he got, cause I seen where there out west and there are a couple hear at home.

The Ford parts books states the stakes were installed on Platform trucks..not styleside boxes.
Them being made of Oak is suspect.

The Recreation division was mostly responsible for The Ford American Road Camper RV

You could get them, cause they were stakes and they were finished wood.

this page is proof of a Farm & Ranch Model, and these options were available on all trucks. But I know later instead of the side being painted to match the truck they were oak and treated and coated (Unless that was a dealer option in Most states).

1969 Ford Pickup 10

Cause there was also a contractor special. But slowly Ford took it out of a package and made it all items you could ad on when you ordered one.

If as you say there so many of these trucks that were made then explain why there is no mention of this ioption in any 1979 brochure or Ford Parts Books?
Page 17 and 18

1979 Ford Pickups

The truck this thread is about IS a special edition vehicle put together by one division fo Ford. Not one that was sent to a dealership that way

The Recreation division / Fleet Pool Vehicle made these trucks up special.

Maybe you can post some links to all these other trucks you say are out there ?

I say they aren't many out there.

You can buy Oak Stake Kits to dressup a truck.
